BBB Commends Oregon's 2012 Business of the Year

(LAKE OSWEGO ) - How does your business impact the community?" When asked this question, Detailed Perfection of Corvallis, Ore.—the Oregon winner of Better Business Bureau's 2012 Business of the Year Torch Awards—shared a heart-warming account of contributions to local schools and volunteer work for neighborhood organizations.

After BBB reviewed applications and nominations, volunteer judges from third-party community organizations assessed company entries on four key factors: integrity, involvement, innovation and impression. Out of 35 contenders, Detailed Perfection—an auto detailing business—earned the highest recognition.

Scholarship: In conjunction with Business of the Year, BBB recognizes Kimberly Goertzen of West Salem High School as the Oregon winner of BBB’s $1,000 Students of Integrity Scholarship. Students were asked to "discuss how sustainable business practices and ethics are interrelated" and Kimberly's essay demonstrated awareness and understanding.
