Be Aware! Overnight Lane Closures, Traffic Shifts Planned on I-5 Northbound in Salem Friday, Saturday NightsSalem-News.comThe northbound offramp at the N. Santiam Highway-Mission Street exit also will be closed from midnight Friday through 4:00 AM Saturday for similar work.
(SALEM) - Contractors working for the Oregon Department of Transportation will close alternating lanes on I-5 northbound from Kuebler Boulevard to N. Santiam Highway overnight tonightFriday and Saturday for road work. The lane closures will be in place from 7:00 PM Friday through 6:00 AM Saturday, and will repeat Saturday night into Sunday morning. Drivers should expect potential delays on I-5 Sunday morning in the event the work takes longer than planned. The closures will allow work crews to re-stripe lane lines and move traffic barriers. The northbound offramp at the N. Santiam Highway-Mission Street exit also will be closed from midnight Friday through 4:00 AM Saturday for similar work. Only emergency vehicles will be allowed to use the offramp; all other traffic will be detoured to the Market Street interchange. During the week of March 18th, drivers on I-5 through south Salem should expect delays and watch for overnight paving from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM with lane shifts, one-lane traffic, and roadside construction equipment and workers. ODOT anticipates that the work will require between four and six nights to complete. All work is weather dependent. Drivers should visit www.TripCheck.com or call 511 for the most current traffic advisories.
