Meet Salem-News.com's New Outdoor Reporters (VIDEO)Tim King Salem-News.comGerrit Roelof and Mitch Webb will bring the best of Oregon's outdoors to our viewers.
(SALEM, Ore.) - As we announced just days ago, Salem-News.com has added two new outdoor reporters to our staff of contributors. Gerrit Roelof and Mitch Webb will write and report on the wide array of outdoor recreational activities and opportunities that the state of Oregon offers residents and visitors. Gerrit is an all around outdoorsman who spends a good deal of time hunting and fishing in some of Oregon's most scenic places that serve as wildlife havens. Always dialed into the latest upcoming events and seasonal information, Gerrit will bring our viewers reports that makes a real difference in planning trips and making the most out of Oregon recreation. Mitch is one of Oregon's best known fishermen and his sincere approach to securing the future of a sport enjoyed by hundreds of thousands has already seen significant gains. One recent example is the dedication of a fishing pond in Canby, Oregon that will now be used exclusively by kids and Oregon handicapped fishing permit holders. While he is also tuned into the latest events and developments, Mitch is especially knowledgeable when it comes to rules and regulations. He explains that following the rules is the only way a person can properly and safely live the life of an avid sportsman. Gerrit certainly agrees; he is a police officer and former firefighter. Mitch serves as a uniformed Oregon State Fish & Wildlife Volunteer. These two are going to bring Salem-News.com regulars a whole new experience and getting outdoors is certainly something more people should do!
