Oregon Lottery Still Looking for $182 Million Powerball Jackpot WinnerSalem-News.comThis marks the fourth Powerball® jackpot prize won in Oregon.
(SALEM) - Oregon Lottery Still Looking for $182 Million Powerball Jackpot Winner “In October 2005, we had a $340 million Powerball® jackpot winner from southern Oregon and it was nearly one month before they came to Salem to redeem their ticket,” said Chuck Baumann, Oregon Lottery® spokesman. “The primary reason they waited that long was that they were working with a financial planner and were developing a plan for their winnings,” said Baumann. The Lottery advises the ticket-holder to do at least two things: one, sign the back of the ticket. And the other bit of advice, seek trustworthy financial advice prior to claiming the prize. This marks the fourth Powerball® jackpot prize won in Oregon. The first was a $38.4 million prize won by a Eugene family in 1992. A Beaverton woman won $33.8 million in 1999 and in October 2005, a southern Oregon family won $340 million. Since the Oregon Lottery® began selling tickets in April 1985, it has earned over $5 billion for public education, economic development, state parks, and watershed enhancements and salmon habitat restoration.
