(KEIZER) - Police officers in Keizer say they seized over half a pound of crystal meth Monday night during the arrest of two men who had been under investigation for suspected drug activity.

Sgt. Jeff Isham of the Department`s Community Response Unit took the men into custody on a number of related charges.

For officers like Jeff Isham, the half-pound haul was bigger than usual, `The street value of the methamphetamine is approximately $5,500."

Isham says an investigation into alleged trafficking led Keizer`s CRU officers to the 4200 block of Brooklake Road NE in Salem, Oregon.

28-year old Oscar Omar Guichard Martinez of Woodburn, and 33-year old Jose Manuel Martinez with no known address, are alleged to have delivered the half-pound of crystal meth to the Brooklake Rd. location, where Keizer officers took the stash off their hands, and traded it for handcuffs.

Oscar Omar Guichard Martinez was arrested for two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Deliver Controlled Substance. His bail was set at $70,000. Jose Manuel Martinez was arrested for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Deliver Controlled Substance. Investigators say he also had an outstanding Marion County Warrant for Delivery and Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bail was set at $60,000. Both were transported and lodged at the Marion County Correctional Facility.
