Early Morning Fire Destroys Albany Business

The estimated contents value was $800,000, with $750,000 in damages.

(ALBANY, Ore. ) - This morning at 3:07 AM the Albany Fire Department was called to a fire alarm at Hydration Technologies, Inc. located at 1517 Industrial Way SW.

Upon arrival, heavy white smoke was seen coming from the rear of the building.

The fire was moved from a first alarm to a second alarm at 3:26 AM.

Units came from the Jefferson, Lebanon, and Scio fire departments to assist with the fire.

Corvallis Fire Department also responded to cover the city of Albany.

There were 35 fire personnel, six engines and two trucks at the fire scene.

There were no injuries.

The building is owned by Ed Perlenfein.

The estimated value of the building is $320,000; it was a total loss.

The estimated contents value was $800,000, with $750,000 in damages.

Hydration Technologies, Inc. employs approximately five people and manufactures a water filtration process.

The fire is currently under investigation.
