(DEPOE BAY, Ore.) - Oregon State Police, with the assistance of United States Coast Guard, Depoe Bay Fire Department and Lincoln County Medical Examiner, are investigating the discovery of an unidentified body found Friday morning in the surf at Lincoln Beach south of Gleneden Beach. Today at around daylight, an area resident reported seeing a body floating in the surf at Lincoln Beach about two miles north of Depoe Bay. Oregon State Police, United States Coast Guard, and Depoe Bay Fire Department responded. The body was retrieved from the water and will be taken to a local funeral home pending efforts to positively identify it with the medical examiner's assistance. Even though the body has not been positively identified, Oregon State Police have notified family members of 61-year-old Larry Underhill, from Woodburn, who has been missing since the reported crash of an airplane off the coast in the Lincoln City area. Underhill was reportedly a passenger in the plane. Two days ago, a body positively identified as missing airplane pilot, 58-year-oldRaymond Patrick Mullen, from Silverton was found about 3 – 4 miles north of this location on the ocean shore of Salishan Spit. No additional information will be released until positive identification has been determined.
