Be Aware! Two Major Construction Projects Could Hamper Your Commute This WeekSalem-News.comIf your commute goes thru one of these workzones, expect delays.
(SALEM) - The City of Salem Public Works Department wants you to Be Aware! of two projects that are set to begin on Monday that could affect your commute thru the Salem-area. Please make a note of these projects, and if your commute takes you thru on of these workzones, allow extra time for your commute, or use an alternate route to get to your destination. Beginning Monday, the intersection of Brush College Road NW and Doaks Ferry Road NW will be reduced to one lane of traffic with flaggers from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This is a deep sewer line installation project and will proceed west on Brush College Road NW. Once out of the intersection of Doaks Ferry Road NW and Brush Collage the work hours will be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and delays of up to15 minutes can be expected at times. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to last thru Sunday, July 1st, on Brush College Road NW. Beginning Monday thru Friday, D Street NE between Summer Street NE and Capitol Street NE will be closed to all thru traffic 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily. Local access will be maintained from Summer Street NE. Additionally, Capitol Street NE will also be reduced to two lanes of traffic at the intersection with D Street NE. A detour route will be in place using Capitol Street NE, Market Street NE and Summer Street NE for west bound traffic and Summer Street NE, Union Street NE and Capitol Street NE for east bound traffic. Use alternate routes to avoid delays. These closures are for installation of a sewer manhole.
