SELCO Community Credit Union Launches Its `Your Big Break` Video ContestSalem-News.com Business ReportThe submission deadline is Friday, April 25th.
(EUGENE, Ore.) - Departing from the typically stuffy, business-suit financial image, SELCO Community Credit Union is loosening its tie and asking the general public to produce their own SELCO television commercials. This is an open talent-call to all would-be television commercial producers who want to try their hand at making a commercial about the benefits of joining SELCO. In addition to having a chance to break into the “business” and have fun, the top three winners will receive big money and possibly see their commercials on the local airwaves. “SELCO has always been a community-oriented, member-driven organization,” says Bonnie Larson, SELCO’s Vice President of Marketing. “Considering the tremendous creative talent we have in our community, we decided that our members were most qualified to tell other consumers what SELCO is all about.” Entrants are encouraged to produce a 23-second commercial that tells the world why they should join SELCO. The commercials can be edgy, funny, bold, simple, serious—or anything in between. In addition to the possibility of seeing their commercial on local television, the first place winner will receive a grand prize of $5,000. Submission deadline is Friday, April 25th. Video finalists selected by a judging panel at SELCO will be posted on the selco.org website for public voting from Monday, May 12 through midnight Friday, June 6, 2008. Full contest details and rules are available at selco.org/yourbigbreak. With a network of 13 branch offices located throughout western and central Oregon, SELCO Community Credit Union provides services to nearly 80,000 members locally and worldwide. SELCO’s members can access their accounts through a variety of convenient, no-cost options including online banking, phone banking, online loans, bill payment, electronic statements, and no-surcharge ATMs. To learn more about SELCO, visit selco.org.
