College Democrats Host Democratic DebateSalem-News.comSecretary of State Candidates Forum at Western Oregon University.
(MONMOUTH, Ore.) - Western Oregon University College Democrats are excited to bring candidates for the Democratic Nomination for Secretary of State of Oregon to campus May 7, 2008 at Noon for a debate. This is an opportunity for the mid-valley citizens to see and hear the candidates directly. The debate is co-hosted by the Western Oregon University Communication Studies & Political Science Departments. Professor Mark Henkels, PhD. will be moderating the debate. The candidates scheduled to participate are: Senator Kate Brown. Kate Brown currently represents portions of Northeast and Southeast Portland and Milwaukie. She was the first women to hold the position of Senate Majority Leader in the Oregon Senate. katebrownfororegon.com Senator Rick Metsger. Rick Metsger currently represents portions of Multnomah, Clackamas and Hood River counties in the Oregon Senate. Vicki Walker currently represents parts of Eugene and Junction City in the Oregon Senate.
