(CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.) - Random House defines truth as “ agreement with the original” or “conformity with reality.” So, who exactly is American Idol’s Lauren Alaina and does the “Pre-Idol Lauren” match up with the “American Idol Lauren?” Well … you bet she does! We’ve talked with some friends, new and old, and we’ll let them share “16 Sweet Reasons” Lauren Alaina should be the next American Idol!

“Lauren is very personable and she loves to sing to you. When I interviewed Lauren for her job at CiCi’s, she told me she loved to sing and asked if she could sing me a song … I will never forget that! It’s always hard to lose a good employee, but in this case we are so happy for where Lauren is going.” Mike Wild, CiCi’s Pizza Manager

“While working here at CiCi’s Pizza, Lauren would work the register, greet guests, take orders, bring pizza to the tables, sweep the floors … She would do any jobs we needed her to do at the store: she never said no to any job that needed to be done.” Mike Wild, CiCi’s Pizza Manager

“Lauren is the best friend you could ever ask for … She is so supportive and will always back you up 100 percent.” Maria K., Lauren’s Best Friend

“Lauren deserves to win because she is such a good singer and because she has been herself on the show the whole time. I would love to see Lauren win American Idol because this has been a dream of hers for 10 years. Ever since she first saw the show, Lauren dreamed of being on American Idol.” Maria K., Lauren’s Best Friend

“Lauren has a nurturing personality. She gives everything she has to people in need. We have a Special Needs “Peer Program” at our school and these students just love Lauren. The teacher will often ask Lauren to come in the classroom to work with the kids or sing with them because they have such a connection with Lauren.” Terri Vandiver, Principal of Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School

“Lauren has a heart of gold, a beautiful talent and a limitless future.” Terry Vandiver, Principal of Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School

“I’ve been credited as Lauren’s vocal coach, but God gave Lauren her talent … I’ve just helped her know what to do with it.” Karen Alayne, Country Music Notable and Owner of Fireball Music

“What we’ve got is a star!” Karen Alayne, Country Music Notable and Owner of Fireball Music

“Lauren presents herself as down-to-earth and a real person. Lauren is the girl-next-door and she is talented and real. I can relate to her because I am a performing artist too. Because I am a singer, I can really appreciate the tone of Lauren’s voice and the enormous amount of talent Lauren has for someone of her age.” Carlie G., High School Student and Fan from Parkland, FL

“I love that Lauren helped her cousin Holly and that she helps kids with special needs. Lauren should win because she is the whole combo: she has a great voice, she is a role model and she is the type of person that deserves to win.” Carlie G., High School Student and Fan from Parkland, FL

“Lauren’s grandmother Linda was my best friend. I have known the family for 25 years and this is a good family. Well, ever since the show first came on, Lauren would dress up and play ‘American Idol.’ Linda and I would be the judges and Lauren would perform for us.” Tootsie Kuritz, Tootsie’s Hair and Nails

“Lauren would come into my beauty shop with her grandmother ‘wide open.’ Ever since Lauren was little she had the loudest voice … and she just loved to sing! She would sing to all my customers and sometimes they would give her 25 cents or a dollar.” Tootsie Kuritz, Tootsie’s Hair and Nails

“Lauren is talented beyond her years and she has a great personality. She is so cute and adorable and you can tell she just acts like herself. She is very down-to-earth and grounded. I can relate to her because we are the same age (16) and we are both artist.” Julia M., New York student and artist

“I am an artist. I can’t wait to come home from school so I can draw pictures of Lauren because she is just so inspiring. I vote for her as many times as I can every week by redialing my votes and getting my brothers and sisters to help vote on-line while I am texting in my votes!” Julia M., New York student and artist

“I’ve known Lauren since she was 8 or 9. I would watch her while her mom tanned and she would always sing to me. She practiced signing her autograph all the time because she wanted to be a singer. She made 100’s of signatures. I kept them all because I believed in her.” Jody Tinker, Fort Lake Tanning

“Lauren is a special little girl and has the most giving personality. She has worked so hard and she has a gifted talent. But what people need to know about her is that heart is just so big. And that’s why I think she deserves to win, because her heart is so big.” Jody Tinker, Fort Lake Tanning

“I love her as one of my own. I may cry … but it is hard to say how much she has meant to me and my oldest daughter Baylee. Baylee is autistic and she can be a handful, but Baylee loves Lauren. Lauren started singing to Baylee five years ago and has spent time with her ever since. Lauren helped Baylee at the Special Olympics and Baylee gave Lauren one of her medals as a gift: Lauren actually wore it in one of her performances. But I can tell you, Lauren has not changed a bit since this competition began. Baylee and I went to see Lauren in California a few weeks ago and one night Lauren came to the room and spent 31/2 or 4 hours with Baylee. Lauren has a good, pure heart. She is a good girl.” Kim English, Baylee’s mom

“Baylee now calls Wednesdays ‘Lauren Alaina Night!’ Lauren has a special gift from God and I hope she goes all the way!” Kim English, Baylee’s mom

Well, Baylee has said it best: “It’s Lauren Alaina Night!” Tonight is a huge night for Lauren Alaina, so if you have fallen in love with her as much as we have please vote for Lauren after tonight’s American Idol show! And, may we all follow our dreams like Lauren … and may we all vote for Lauren as often as possible!

Everyday acts of love, bravery and generosity. Everyday acts of determination, kindness and triumph in the face of tragedy. The simple things that make life so rich and rewarding! The zest and marrow of life."

She says from the very beginning, the vision for her column The Good Stuff has been crystal clear: shine a bright light on the good in life because sharing the good has the power to touch lives around the world.
