(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - An Oregon State Police trooper, with the assistance of an OSP drug dog, seized approximately one ounce of methamphetamine during a traffic stop Tuesday evening on Interstate 5 about one mile south of Woodburn.

Accompanying the suspect were two passengers, ages 14 and 3, one of which was also drinking a Corona beer provided by the suspect.

At approximately 6:30 PM, Tuesday night, the trooper stopped a 2006 Chrysler 300 displaying Oregon license plates for a speed violation northbound Interstate 5 near milepost 269.

Prior to the stop, the trooper noted a juvenile male passenger, later determined to be 14 years of age, was drinking from a bottle of Corona beer.

During the contact the driver was identified as 27-year-old Samual Gomez-Bravo, from Woodburn.

The trooper saw two open containers of alcohol at the feet of the 14 year old passenger.

An OSP drug dog assisting during the stop alerted on the vehicle.

Subsequent search led to the discovery of over one ounce of methamphetamine concealed under the passenger side floormat.

Gomez-Bravo was taken into custody and lodged at the Marion County Jail for:

  • Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine
  • Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Child Neglect in the First Degree (child under 16 years of age in a vehicle where controlled substances are being criminally delivered or manufactured)

He was also cited for Driving While Suspended, Driving Uninsured, and Violation of the Open Container law.

The two children were turned over to a relative who responded to the scene.
