A Farewell Tribute to the 82nd BrigadeSalem-News.com
Event will take place June 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Millenium Plaza Park, Lake Oswego.
(LAKE OSWEGO) - A top patriotic show to honor those who are serving and those who have served. After 50 years of the National Guard Armory making its home in Lake Oswego, the 82nd will be moving to Camp Withycombe, Clackamas.
This is a star-studded event just for you soldiers and your families. Many stars will be participating. The award-winning golden voice for the Blazers for years “Rip City, Baby”, Bill Shonely, will be the Master of Ceremonies.
The Royal Rosarians will be hosting this event.
The 1977 Championship Blazers will also be appearing. The Vancouver Pipe Band will liven up the music with many players.
The Civil War Fife and Drum will shoot off their muzzle loaders. Civil War Re-enactors and their canon will be part of the static display of military equipment. The Lake Oswego Fire Department will have their ladder truck on display. The Lake Oswego Lyons Club will have food and beverages available with complementary coffee for active and retired military.
The Oregon Veterans Motor Association will be present with their Harleys and flags. The Mayor and City Council will thank you all for your service. This is a special one time only “USO” style show just for you and many more surprises.
This event, on Father’s Day, is also open to the public. We wish you a wonderful day with your sons, fathers, and grandfathers.
Admission is FREE.
