(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com was a featured guest this week during a special Memorial Weekend edition of the KPSU Portland's College Radio station program: Fathers, Mothers & Families.

The Relationship Talk Show addresses family issues and public affairs and they have been supportive of our delayed effort to cover the war in Iraq.

Hosts of the show include Jim Whinston, Robbin Peterson, Stephen Moran and Tye Rowe. They allowed me to update their listeners on the status of the Iraq trip and to also discuss a very important development in our efforts to help re-establish the fund for Afghan Children that President Bush canceled in 2005, or to revive a similar one like it.

Most people agree that the war in Afghanistan is one we must be successful in if we wish to help secure the world from terrorism. But we are doing work today at much more cost than we could have done it for in 1989 and the early 1990's after Afghanistan's Mujahadeen warriors defeated the Soviet Army from their borders.

After that we turned our back, despite pleas from important politicians like Charlie Wilson, and the Taliban eventually took control of the country.

All of these topics are discussed in the radio program posted below in a special video presentation that features the things in Afghanistan that we are talking about.

To all: One more fine report, multiplied by transmission in sister channel, from S-N's Editor Tim. Where else but S-N will you find such insightful, factual, documented, animated, AND actual-experience reporting ? IF you agree, make sure your friends, even your foes if any you have, know about and visit us. The points you prove may well come from some of our stuff, amplified by our open, honest, democratic dialog...!!
