(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - The Oregon State baseball team will enter the 2014 NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 National Seed, the NCAA selection committee announced Monday morning.

The seeding is the highest ever for the Beavers, who were the No. 8 national seed in 2005 and No. 3 last season.

Oregon State is the No. 1 club at the Corvallis Regional, which opens play Friday at Goss Stadium. Oregon State will also host No. 2 UNLV, No. 3 UC Irvine and No. 4 North Dakota State.

The postseason appearance is the 15th all-time for the Beavers, and the sixth consecutive, which extends a program record. The Beavers are 47-29 (.618) all-time in the postseason, including a 26-17 (.604) record in NCAA Regional games.

Oregon State is hosting an NCAA Regional for the fifth time, and have gone a combined 12-0 when hosting in 2005, 2006, 2011 and 2013 (since the NCAA expanded into the current Super Regional format).

The Beavers are 23-4 all-time at Goss Stadium in the postseason.

North Dakota State, whom the Beavers will open with, finished the season with a 25-24 record and 10-12 record in the Summit League. UNLV, the No. 2 seed at the regional, finished the regulars season at 35-23 overall and 20-10 in the Mountain West. Finally, No. 3 UC Irvine tallied a 35-22 overall record and was 15-9 in the Big West.

Oregon State will play North Dakota State at 8 p.m. PT Friday. UC Irvine and UNLV will play at 2 p.m. The games will be on the ESPN family of networks.

All-session tickets will be made available to the general public beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday (online only until 9 a.m.). Infield reserved tickets are $100 while outfield general admission seats are $75 and student outfield seats cost $56. All-session tickets guarantee the holder to all six games of the regional, and a seventh if necessary game.

Single-game tickets will be made available on each day – pending availability - and cost $20 for infield reserved seats, $15 for outfield general admission and $12 for student outfield seats. The ticket office at Goss Stadium will open at 10 a.m. on the first day of the regional and two hours prior to the first game’s first pitch each subsequent day.

Current season-ticket holders have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to request tickets prior to them going on sale to the general public. Our Beaver Nation members without season tickets may also request tickets until that time.

Fans can purchase tickets by calling 1-800-GOBEAVS, going online at BeaverTickets.com or in person at Gill Coliseum, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fans who attend the regional should note that the parking lot beyond the left field fence will be closed to the public each day, and other parking lots near Goss Stadium will require a fee. A parking map will be made available on the Corvallis Regional Tournament page.
