Salem Police Need Help Identifying Car ThiefSalem-News.comThe suspect appears to be a Hispanic male in his early 20's withshort dark hair, wearing a blue short sleeve shirt.
(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Police Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a manwho stole are car from a south Salem Walmart parking lot on May 15th. The crime occurred at the Walmart store located at 1940 Turner Rd SE at about 6:15 PM. The 23-year-old victim parked her 1992 Honda Accord in the lot and went into the store. She came out about 15 minutes later and found her car missing. The car was found the next day about 8:00 PM in a field in the 14000 block of River Rd N, in Gervais. The tires, wheels and stereo were missing. The Marion County Sheriff's office handled the recovery. Surveillance photos from Walmart show two suspects parking a gold Honda Accord next to the victim's car. The passenger gets out, goes into the store and when he comes back out he gets into thev ictim's car and both he and the car he came in leave the lot together. The best quality photos are of the suspect walking out of the store before stealing the car. The video does not give police a clear view of the driver but it appears she is a white female. The suspect appears to be a Hispanic male in his early 20's withshort dark hair, wearing a blue short sleeve shirt. The vehicle they arrived in was a late model gold Honda Accord with tinted windows. If anyone recognizes the suspect or has any information about this case they are asked to call Salem Police Detective Ben Bales (503) 588-6050 ext 7160 and ref to case number 07-22258.
