Teen Dies in Single Car Crash

(LEBANON) - Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says his agency is sad to report that a 17-year old boy died as the result of injuries he received when his car collided with a driveway culvert on Lacomb Road at approximately 5:00 PM Monday afternoon.

Mueller says Skylar Todd Schlim, of Lebanon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lebanon Firefighters and medics responded to the scene to help with the process of extricating the victim from the damaged vehicle.

Witnesses to the crash informed deputies that the car, a late 1980's Dodge Daytona, was traveling westbound on Lacomb road when it drifted the into the eastbound lane and left the roadway.

The car struck the culvert of a residential driveway at 38966 Lacomb Road approximately one mile from Brewster Road. No other vehicles were involved and the cause of the crash remains under investigation by Linn County Sheriff's deputies.

Huston-Jost Funeral Home in Lebanon is handling arrangements.
