(Newberg, Oregon) - With seven saves at Pacific University in the season finale, George Fox University goalkeeper Elliott Davis has been named the Bruin Athletic Association Men’s Athlete of the Week for Nov. 1-7, the third time this fall the sophomore from Canby, Ore., has captured the weekly honor.

The Boxers captured the Northwest Conference championship with their 4-0 win over the Bruins on Nov. 6, but the score was only 1-0 at the half, and Davis had made six of his seven saves in the first period to keep the outcome in doubt. He added one more save in the second half and finished with 80 minutes of work, boosting his season total for saves to a league-leading 92. He also paces the conference in saves per game (6.13). He has a save percentage of .672 and has recorded one shutout this fall.

Davis has been honorable mention twice this season for the NWC Men’s Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week award. He is one of five Bruin soccer players who have received BAA weekly honors, joining Torrey Santiago, Danny Kamna, David Rickey, and Christian Reed.

The Bruin Athletic Association Athlete of the Week Award for both men and women is presented throughout the Bruin sports seasons. The mission of the BAA is to provide George Fox student-athletes with an outstanding athletic and academic experience and to strengthen the overall competitiveness of the Bruin athletics program.
