Woodburn Man Arrested on Kidnapping ChargesSalem-News.comPolice say the suspect also had warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Giving False Information.
(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Marion County deputies arrested a Woodburn man for kidnapping and other charges last night, after he allegedly kidnapped his girlfriend and her three children. The Marion County Sheriff's Office was called out to a report of a man with a gun in the 300 Block of Main Street in Jefferson, Oregon, at 11:00 PM. When deputies arrived, they arrested 29-year old Miguel Serratos-Jimenez of Woodburn on four counts of Kidnapping, Menacing, Reckless Endangering and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine. Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says the investigation revealed that Serratos, who is the victim's boyfriend, came to Jefferson and forced the victim and her three children into his vehicle at gunpoint. "The victim told Serratos one of the children had to go to the bathroom and she was able to get out of the vehicle," The woman reportedly took two of the children with her to a friend's house, called 911 and locked the door. However, she had to leave one of the children in the car with Serratos, Lorance said. "After a short time Serratos went to the front door of the residence and begin demanding the victim come out and pounding on the door and windows. When deputies arrived they surrounded the house and stopped Serratos just as he was attempting to leave the scene in his vehicle." Lorance says Serratos still had the child in the vehicle when he was stopped. "Marion County Deputies were able to determine the weapon Serratos used was a BB gun and he was arrested on the above charges as well as Marion County warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Giving False Information and lodged in the Marion County Jail. Serratos is scheduled to appear in court on November 19th.
