The investigation will be continued by Oregon State Police with the assistance of the Lincoln County Medical Examiner's Office. Saturday at approximately 8:30 AM, a report was received that the deceased body of a female was spotted after it had washed onto the beach of Salishan Spit south of Lincoln City. Oregon State Police and Depoe Bay Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the scene but initially were unable to identify the woman because there was no identification with the body.
