(SALEM) - At 9:08 AM Monday, November 20th, the Salem Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a house at 1929 Nut Tree Dr. NW.

Arriving firefighters reported that a car had crashed into the front of the home's garage, smashing into the clothes washer and dryer. The impact thrust the clothes washer and dryer through the wall and into the dining room of the home.

The driver of the vehicle was also the homeowner. Donna Rivett, said she was returning home from grocery shopping in her 2004 Volvo when her foot slipped.

An estimate of the amount of damages to the vehicle and home is available at this time. No one was inside the home, and no injuries were reported.
