Oregon Weather Outlook - Cold

(SALEM, Ore.) - Highs are not expected or go back above freezing until Wednesday, moderate winds with little or no snow accumulation. Numerous winter weather advisories in effect across Oregon.

Snow will increase north of Portland early this evening and transition to snow southward through the evening. Snow will taper off after 10 pm but some additional light accumulations are possible.

Snow level at the surface north of Kelso otherwise between 500 and 800 feet early this evening lowering to the surface in all areas between 6 pm and 8 pm. Accumulation 2 to 5 inches in washington with highest amounts in Cowlitz County and higher hills. 1 to 3 inches in Oregon with highest amounts in the higher hills.

Impacts roads may become slick and hazardous for travel. Precautionary/Preparedness actions a winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving

Tonight: Snow showers, mainly before 10pm. Low around 24. Northwest wind between 7 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 31. North northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph becoming calm.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 18. Light north northwest wind.

Wednesday: A slight chance of snow after 10am, mixing with rain after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. East southeast wind between 3 and 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of rain before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Calm wind.

Thanksgiving Day: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44.

Thursday Night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Friday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 48.


Friday Night: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 38.

Saturday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 46.

Saturday Night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.

Sunday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46.
