(SALEM, Ore.) - Nearly sixty car tires in southeast Salem were slashed Saturday night or early Sunday morning, according to police.

The Salem Police Department is hoping a member of the public can help them in identifying the person or persons responsible.

Lt. Steve Birr with Salem Police says the incidents occurred along Fabry Road SE, Woodside Drive SE, Alvina Street SE, Norma Avenue SE, Rockwood Street SE, Baxter Road SE, Tanoak Avenue SE, Ironwood Drive SE, and 10th Street SE.

Birr says there are no suspects at this time.

"It is our hope that someone knows who did this and can assist us by providing the information we need to be able to arrest whoever participated in this totally senseless act."

Anyone with information is asked to call Salem Police at (503)588-6123.
