Snow Advisory in Effect for Oregon CascadesSalem-News.comSalem weather forecast today: showers, chance of a thunderstorm later this afternoon, highs around 55.
(SALEM, Ore. ) - The National Weather Service says a Snow Advisory remains in effect until 5:00 PM today for the north Oregon and south Washington Cascades. Snow showers continue to move across the state this morning in a moist and unstable air mass. At lower elevations, rainfall amounts in the Cascades overnight were near half-an-inch, which indicates the likelihood of several inches of snow at higher elevations. Snow levels today will range fron 3,000 to 3,500 feet. 2 to 5 inches of snow is possible today. A Snow Advisory means that periods of snow will cause some travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Slow Down! and allow extra space between you and the vehicle in front of you.
