Keizer Fire District Open House MondaySalem-News.comVisitors will be able to see apparatus displays and get valuable fire safety information. In addition visitors can participate in fun activities and enjoy refreshments.
(KEIZER) - The Keizer Fire District will be holding its annual Fire Prevention Week Open House on Monday. Activities include demonstrations of kitchen fire safety, the use of fire extinguishers, and free blood pressure checks. Children of all ages will be able to use a real fire hose, try their skills at the Junior Firefighter Challenge and practice crawling low under smoke through the home escape maze. This year children who visit the various displays can have their Open House Passport stamped after answering a safety question and enter a drawing for their chance to win a boys or girls bike. Participants in this year’s Fire Prevention Week Open House include the American Red Cross, Salem Department of Environmental Services, Community Emergency Response Tem (CERT), Emergency Volunteers Assisting Keizer (EVAK) and KARES (Keizer Animal Rescue Emergency Shelters), Marion County Emergency Management, IAFF Local 3881, Oregon Burn Center and the Oregon Office of the State Fire Marshal. Also in attendance this year will be Fire Pup. The Open house runs from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Keizer Fire Station, 661 Chemawa Rd. NE in Keizer. For more information call (503) 390-9111.
