(FRENCH PRAIRIE, Ore.) - A McMinnville-area woman was seriously injured Monday morning when her sport utility vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into the back of a flatbed trailer at the intersection of French Prairie Road and Highway 219 east of St. Paul. Police say this morning at approximately 7:15 AM, a 1997 Honda Passport driven by 45-year old Juanita L. Stallings of McMinnville, was southbound on French Prairie Road taking her 7-year old daughter to school. For an unknown reason, investigators say, the Honda Passport failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 219 and struck the left rear of an eastbound flatbed trailer. Stallings was seriously injured and transported by ambulance to Newberg Hospital. Her daughter, Alaura Stallings, received injuries and was also transported to the same hospital. Safety restraint use information is not available. The driver of the eastbound truck pulling the flatbed trailer, identified as 49-year old Ronald C. Ammen of St. Paul, was not injured. Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Mark Davie from the Salem Area Command office is continuing the investigation. St. Paul Fire Department and ODOT assisted at the scene.
