Anonymous exposes 1,589 Internet pedophiles in Operation DarknetBonnie King Salem-News.com
Online pedophiles beware! Your end is near.
(The World) - The group Anonymous announced a great victory this week. After hacking into "Lolita City", a darknet website used by pedophiles to trade in child pornography, Anonymous released usernames and other information of 1,589 pedophiles trading in kiddie porn.
The move comes as an unexpected aftershock to the child porn industry, as the group also managed to take down more than 40 pedophile websites last week which were swapping images through the Tor anonymization network.
A "darknet" website is a closed private network of computers used for file sharing.
Darknet websites are part of the Invisible Web, sometimes called the Deep Web, containing content that is not part of the Surface Web, which is indexed by standard search engines.
As promised, Anonymous has revealed the entire user database of the 1589 users active on Lolita City, a darknet trading site for pedos. Here are the links: http://pastebin.com/88Lzs1XR, http://pastebin.com/TDzM5G2y
In a Pastebin release , Anonymous offered a timeline of events detailing the discovery of the hidden cache of more than 100 gigabytes of child porn associated with Lolita City.
Anonymous enthusiasts explain the technical side of how they were able to locate and identify Lolita City and access their user data base.
While they were not able to obtain the password credentials, they did determine the following information regarding the server location. Using timing attacks with Beowulf clusters located in Europe, Asia, the US, and South Africa, Anonymous was able to determine an estimate TTL of the server's location, roughly in the USA. The NGNIX server hosting the content is on a shared server, using hardened PHP with escaping. They were able to bypass it with UTF-16 ASCII encoding.
Once we hear about the operation, it is history. In this case, Anonymous has provided society with something that the police have been unable to do- reveal the ugly truth about online child porn and who the culprits are.
Graham Cluley of the British security firm Sophos said, "Their intentions may have been good, but take-downs of illegal websites and sharing networks should be done by the authorities, not internet vigilantes.”
Even so, Anonymous is clearly not finished with the kiddie porn perverts.
"We are suspending our attack on The Hidden Wiki, as we currently ran out AT&T prepaid bandwidth for our NetBSD toaster. The "Nyan Nyan" NetBSD toaster had to be put to death to with Thermite, Burning Man Fashion," an Anonymous representative wrote. "Heed not," they continue, "we will have two more "Nyan Nyan" embedded machines in a week to take on child porn sites. Fear the Pedo Bear kiddie porners, it's going to catch you soon!"
We are Anonymous.
We are Legion.
We do not forgive.
We do not forget.
