Sheriff's Office Releases Sketch of Suspect who used Counterfeit Bills to Buy Iphone; Tips SoughtSalem-News.com
(OREGON CITY, Ore. ) - The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has released a sketch of a male suspected of purchasing iPhone 5 models using counterfeit $100 bills. Tips from the public are welcome.
On Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, the suspect responded to the victim's Craigslist ad about her iPhone 5 for sale. Suspect and victim met in a parking lot in Oregon City and exchanged the phone for $500. The suspect paid with five $100 bills. The bills were to be discovered to be counterfeit when the victim tried to deposit them at a bank.
The Sheriff's Office has learned of similar cases that may involve the same suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male, age 18-25 and standing approximately 6 feet tall, with light-brown hair and distinctive ear piercings. The suspect sketch is attached to this release.
