Victim Dies in Crash Sunday Near PedeeSalem-News.com
(PEDEE) - A single vehicle crash Sunday at approx. 3:00 PM the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash on Maple Grove RD northeast of Pedee.
Dean Bender with the Polk County Sheriff's Office says the Deputies arrived to find two occupants, one of which was ejected from the vehicle.
35-year old Stewart D. Reagan of Independence and his companion 32-year old Casey K Slayton of Philadelphia, PA, were traveling east on Maple Grove in a 1992 Toyota 4-Runner when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over.
Stewart Reagan was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis for apparent minor injuries. Ms. Slayton was pronounced dead at the scene resulting from head trauma.
The Oregon State Police assisted with the crash investigation, which remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Bob Wolfe advised that it appears seat belts were not being utilized by the occupants of the vehicle and wishes to remind the public that seatbelts can and do save lives. He encourages everyone to “Buckle Up”.
