Attempted Murder Suspect in Mt. Angel Shooting ArrestedSalem-News.comNathanael Puckey was arrested for Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use Of Weapon, Felony in Possession of a Firearm, and Recklessly Endangering.
(SALEM, Ore.) - A man police considered armed and dangerous over an attempted murder in Mount Angel on September 5th, has been arrested by deputies in Marion County. Lt. Bob Stai with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, says Street Crime detectives and SWAT members arrested 24-year old Nathanael Luar Puckey at 11:00 PM Wednesday. He was taken into custody for Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use Of Weapon, Felony in Possession of a Firearm, and Recklessly Endangering. His arrest stems from a gun shooting incident from September 5th, at a private residence in the 9800 block of Mt. Angel-Gervais Road NE in rural Marion County, Oregon. Stai says that at approximately 5:30 PM on September 5th, a man named Marcos Enciso had a confrontation with two male subjects in the driveway of the private residence. "Mr. Enciso sustained one gunshot wound to the stomach from a suspect who fled in a vehicle. Mr. Enciso was transported to OHSU for treatment." He says Marcos Enciso is expected to recover from his injuries. Marion County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies and detectives worked the case with assistance from Keizer Police Department. The investigation developed Nathanael Puckey as a suspect, Stai says. "Mr. Puckey has had previous arrests for Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Stolen Vehicles, and Identity Theft. Mr. Puckey is under supervision of the Sheriff's Office Parole and Probation Division." He added that the investigation further suggested that Puckey was armed with a firearm. Street Crime Detectives developed information on Puckey's whereabouts during the early evening hours of September 12th. Because they believed he was armed and dangerous, the Marion County Sheriff's Office SWAT assisted Street Crime Detectives and patrol with arresting him in the 200 block of Lancaster Drive NE. In the end, Puckey was taken into custody without incident. Stai says the investigation is pending. Anyone who has contact with Mr. Puckey over the past two weeks is asked to contact Detective Tyler Chapman at (503) 566-6910.
