Eugene Driver Cited After Female Passenger Falls Out of Moving CarSalem-News.comThe 17-year old girl suffered serious injuries.
(EUGENE, Ore.) - A 23-year old Eugene man was cited for DUII, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor after an early Thursday morning incident that seriously injured his 17-year old girlfriend when she fell out an open window of the car he was driving while rounding a curve. Thursday at approximately 5:00 AM, a state police dispatch center received reports of a 17-year old girl being seriously injured in a traffic-related incident somewhere between Eugene and Florence. An OSP Sergeant and Trooper were called out from their residence after a report was received that the girl was at Sacred Heart Hospital with a serious head injury, and her boyfriend was also at the hospital. Senior Trooper Vonn Schleicher with Oregon State Police says officers contacted the car's driver, 23-year old Michael John Lamb of Eugene at the hospital. They say they learned that at about 3:00 AM, Lamb was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry in the Ferry Street area with his girlfriend, 17-year old Sierra Morasci of Eugene. She apparently was standing up with her upper body outside of the rolled down passenger window. Lamb says that as he rounded a left curve, Mprasci reportedly fell out of the window and struck her head on the ground. That is when Lamb drove Morasci to Sacred Heart Hospital. The OSP investigation led to Lamb being cited to appear in Lane County Circuit Court for DUII, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.
