Fatal Traffic Crash on Highway 99W at Lafayette

A serious accident in Yamhill County takes one life.

(LAFAYETTE, OR. ) - A two-vehicle accident at Hwy 99W and Bridge Street in Lafayette was reported at 5:35 PM Sunday. At 5:35 PM Sunday, officials received the call. Initial information from officials confirms one fatality, one person was taken by LifeFlight to an unknown hospital, and others involved had non-life threatening injuries. No names of the victims have been released.

Police say that Highway 99W may be closed at that location, and travelers are recommended to use alternative routes. Traffic is being detoured on side streets to get around the scene.
