(CANYONVILLE, Ore.) - Two men were arrested after Oregon State Police found 1/3 pound of cocaine in their vehicle last Thursday, on Interstate 5 about six miles south of Canyonville.

Police say that September 18th at about 7:42 AM, an OSP senior trooper stopped a 2006 Hyundai driven by 42-year old Paris Deschonn Perrantes, from Vancouver, Washington for an unsafe lane change and following too closely behind another vehicle northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 92.

Subsequent to the stop, approximately 1/3 lb. of cocaine, an ecstasy tablet and other drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle leading to the arrest of both occupants. An OSP drug detection canine assisted during the stop.

Perrantes and passenger 27-year old Roy Herbert Jones III, from Portland, were lodged in Douglas County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Distribution and Manufacturing a Controlled Substance – Cocaine, and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Ecstasy.

Estimated value of the seized cocaine is approximately $5,000.

wrong or right these cops broke my rights.why am i pulled out of a car after 45 minutes as a passenger in an insured car?why does it take that long 2 smell weed in the car when we refuse a search for a traffic stop that had no reason to pull any of us out of the car.the cops lied in court.turned off audio on part of the stops recording.it is easy to judge people, try to walk in my shoes

The drug dogs always being close by for routine traffic stops is pretty funny. Did your mom used to say 'two wrongs don't make a right'? No, they shouldn't be drug runners. No, it's not constitutional to be searched (even by a dog) without due "suspicion". Improper lane change isn't acceptable, and it probably will get this thrown out of court. ACLU or not.

It's not a scam/lie, it's a matter of taking advantage of opportunities Vic. I think if you're breaking the law, you've just waived your rights. If this is what it takes to keep drugs off the streets, then good for OSP. Job well done.

Yes those two fine gentleman should not have been harrased by OSP. Think of all the lives that coke has wrecked from production to the final users. I think you should call your pals at the ACLU and get these two outstanding gentlemen freed.

If this was really part of the Click it or Ticket fundraiser, wht were there drug dogs there? Can they smell people who arent wearing seatbelts? I do not approve of cocaine, but this sounds like another scam/lie from the OSP/KGB.
