How to Use Salem-News.comSalem-News.com is an extremely user friendly news Website that never charges a visitor a fee to read and watch news. There are several ways to locate our stories and this section is intended to simplify your news journey and also to give visitors a reason to keep coming back every day. Our freshest stories are always found at the top of Salem-News.com, but sometimes the frequency of news means that story you were looking for can be gone from sight within a matter of hours, and that leads us to the Browse News section, which is a chronological rundown of all of our news stories. It would take you a long time, but you could use this section to visit every published article in our archive of more than 13,000.
Sometimes visitors are looking for a story and they have a pretty good idea of what the title is. In this case, simply scroll down slightly to our search box in the left column. Select Salem-News and enter the title that you are looking for. If you have the exact title, you can enter it in either Salem-News.com or Google and you will find your result. By selecting the Salem-News setting, you narrow the search to content only on our site.
Another way to search for stories is by key word use. Every story has key words and some are used more frequently than others. Commonly used key words in our stories include Oregon and Police as well as Fire and Military, Salem and Portland. These words are also utilized by Web users who use RSS feeds to deliver our content right to their desktops.
Searching by staff member is another option. Writers who have a significant amount of content on Salem-News.com generally have an option to view all stories by... and this once again, will take you to a chronological rundown of content, in this case only from a specific writer.
When in doubt, you can also write to our newsroom and ask for assistance in locating a specific story. The newsroom email address is newsroom@salem-news.com
Salem-News.com publishes an endless flow of video. Most of the content is our own, but sometimes the clips originate from other YouTube users, etc.
