CCC Softball: Corban, Eastern Oregon Split Doubleheader

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Among Corban's softball team's 15 hits in the night cap of Friday's twin bill with Eastern Oregon, sophomore Rachel Steigleman hit a lead-off home run and freshman Siriana Guest went 5-for-5 with a three run homer to propel the Warriors to victory, 1-4 & 10-6.

Sophomore Erin Sailors returned to the circle for the Warriors in the opener, pitching four innings and striking out eight Eastern Oregon batters.

Sophomore Karlee Sisler came in for the final three innings and fanned one Mountaineer.

The Mountaineers' Melodee Mildenberger earned the win in game one and her teammate Stephanie Baumann recorded the save.

On her way to hitting 4-for-7 on the day, freshman Jessica Pierce went 2-for-3 from the plate in the first stanza.

The Warrior's tremendous hitting took off in the latter half of the double header.

After opening game two with her first home run of the season, Steigleman concluded having hit 3-for-5 in Corban's win.

Sophomore Megan Gaylord and freshman Kacie Emerick had two hits each, while Guest led the team with her 5-for-5 performance.

Corban’s junior right hander Kelley Seaton pitched a complete 7.0 innings, while tallying three K's and allowing just one walk.

Eastern Oregon was led by Meghan Henderson's 4-for-6 hitting performance.

The split puts the Warriors overall record to 5-27-1, 2-10 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Meanwhile, Eastern Oregon now has an overall record of 15-14, 5-7 in CCC play.

Corban will travel to Caldwell, Idaho tomorrow, April 14th, when the Warriors meet Albertson College of Idaho in a conference double header beginning at 11:00 AM
