EUGENE - Oregon senior point guard Aaron Brooks officially claimed the 2007 Pac-10 scoring title as the league office released its final season statistics on Monday.

At 17.7 points per game, Brooks becomes the first Pac-10 scoring leader from Oregon since Terrell Brandon, who averaged a school record 26.6 points per game in 1991 and was named Pac-10 player of the year.

Brooks had to wait until UCLA’s Arron Afflalo was finished at the NCAA Final Four before officially claiming the title.

The scoring crown adds to a bevy of awards garnered by the Seattle, Wash., native this season, including All-America selections by the Wooden Award, Associated Press and Sporting News.

Brooks also finished his career as just one of five Ducks ranked in Oregon’s career top 10 in scoring, assists and steals. He ended up ranked in six different career top 10 lists and his 621 points in 2006-07 was the seventh-best season effort ever at Oregon.
