CCC Volleyball: Corban Inks Trio for 2007 Season

SALEM - First-year Corban head women's volleyball coach Heather Dunn has signed a trio of seniors for the upcoming 2007 season, which marks her first-ever set of recruits as the leader of the Warriors, including two Sprague High School seniors and one transfer from Clackamas Community College.

Dunn, who took over for long-time head coach Tracy Smith in early February, has been hitting the pavement hard looking for players for the upcoming season and has signed a trio of recruits, including two high school seniors and one junior college transfer to Letters of Intent.

The trio includes Kristen Eiler (Salem, Ore.), Emily Stupfel (Salem, Ore.), and Margo Wyatt (Dufur, Ore.). Both Eiler and Stupfel from highly-touted Sprague High School, while Wyatt arrives at Corban following a two-year career at Clackamas Community College.

Eiler comes to Corban following a career at nearby Sprague High School, where she earned 1st team all-league honors following the 2006 season and all-league honorable mention after the 2005 season.

The 6-foot outside hitter/middle blocker helped lead the Olympians to the Central Valley Conference title this past season.

Stupfel played on the same conference championship team with Eiler and earned all-league honorable mention this past season.

The 5-foot-5 defensive specialist was named as Sprague High School's best defensive player as a senior.

Wyatt, who arrives in the Capitol City from Clackamas Community College, helped lead the Cougars to a second place finish at the NWAACC tournament.

The 5-foot-7 outside hitter was named as the team's Most Inspirational Player and Cougar of the Week once during this past season.

Wyatt also earned the Portland Metro Area's Fellowship of Christian Athletes' (FCA) College Athlete of the Year award, while attending Clackamas Community College.

Eiler, Stupfel, and Wyatt join fellow incoming recruit, Teri Braun, as the quartet of new players that will be suiting up for the Warriors next season in Corban's first go-around with Dunn at the helm.
