Oregon State Swimmer Kayla Rawlings Makes Canadian National Team

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - Oregon State sophomore swimmer Kayla Rawlings has made the Canadian National team and will compete in the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships from August 17-21 in Victoria, British Columbia.

Rawlings used a time of 2:13.56 to earn a third place finish in the 200 butterfly at the Canadian Nationals and garner a spot on the Canadian National team.

Over 300 of the world’s top swimmers will compete in the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. The field includes teams from Canada, the United States, Australia, Japan, China, New Zealand, Chile, Hong Kong, South Africa, Singapore and Argentina.

The event is expected to attract thousands of spectators and over 200 million broadcast viewers worldwide.

A native of White Rock, B.C., Rawlings posted the second-best 200 fly time on the season for the Beavers as a freshman.
