KEIZER - NWL Offensive Player of the Week Matthew Weston, Salem-Keizer Weston has hit safely in nine straight games, during which time his average has increased from .219 to .295.

On Monday against Yakima, the 22-year-old connected on a game-tying two-run homer before going on to score the winning run.

Weston then went on drive in at least one run in each of his next five ballgames, all of which were Salem-Keizer victories.

NWL Pitcher of the Week Adam Cowart tossed 11 2/3 scoreless innings this week and picked up two victories.

That's a typical week for the 22-year-old, who is 8-0 with a 0.29 ERA over 61 2/3 innings pitched this season.

Over three starts in August, Cowart has yielded just one unearned run over 17 2/3 innings.

To put it simply: the guy is unstoppable.
