LANGLEY, B.C. - Senior forward Scott Marshall and junior midfielder Joshua Crain each scored a goal, but it was not enough as Corban's men's soccer team fell, 4-2, to the Spartans of Trinity Western in its season-opener on Friday afternoon.

After falling behind 2-0 thanks to Trinity Western goals in the 9th and 20th minute, Crain pulled the Warriors back within via the team first goal of the season in the 55th minute. The 6-foot junior, who tallied his first goal in almost a year, took a through ball, unloaded a shot from the right side of the net, and found the lower left corner for the score.

After two TWU goals in a span of six minutes, Marshall capped the scoring in the 79th minute when he received a pass from sophomore Justin Lucia (Anchorage, Alaska), took the ball down the right sideline, and shot a ball into the lower left corner.

Trinity Western got goals from Justin Cordick (9th minute), Adrian Kekec (20th & 63rd minute), and Nick Perugini (57th minute). Perugini's goal turned out to be the game-winner.

Sophomore goalkeeper James DelCastillo played the entire game in goal, allowing all 4 goals, while making 4 saves. This was the second-year player's first full game in between the pipes for the Warriors.

The Warriors will be next in action on Saturday, Sept. 2nd, when they go head-to-head with the University of British Columbia beginning at 5:00 PM in Olympia, Washington.
