LEWISTON, Idaho - Kicking off the 2006 season in Idaho is nothing new for Corban's women's volleyball team, but half the team had not experienced the adventure of four matches in two days and it possibly showed on day one.

The Warriors opened the 2006 Holiday Inn Region I Challenge on Friday showing no ill effects of a long bus ride thanks to a 3-0 (30-19, 32-30, 30-15) sweep of Frontier Conference member Montana State-Northern.

Sophomore Jamie McGraw suited up for the first time as a member of Corban's volleyball program and guided the offense with 17 assists, while anchoring the defense with 12 digs.

Fellow sophomore Chelsea Reeher continued where she left off last season with a team-high 12 kills, while seniors Hallie Hofferd and Nina Clanton tallied 8 kills and 4 service aces respectively.

As a team, the Warriors compiled 12 service aces to hold the Skylights at bay during the match.

In their second match, Corban ran into a tough opponent in Rocky Mountain College and fell in 3 games (28-30, 23-30, 24-30).

McGraw paced the Warriors with a team-high 9 kills and 19 assists, while tallying 12 digs.

Junior Becky Horn anchored Corban's back line with a team-high 23 digs, while Reeher and junior Ashley Lange recorded 8 and 7 kills respectively.

Overall, Reeher paced Corban's offensive attack with a combined 20 kills, while McGraw guided the offense with 36 assists, and Horn anchored the back line with 36 digs.

Thanks to the split, Corban is 1-1 on the season.
