Ducks Are For Real: Beat No. 17 Long Beach State

Oregon next plays at the Cal State Northridge tournament this weekend, facing the host Matadors on Friday and Utah State on Saturday.

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The University of Oregon volleyball team passed its first road test of the season, defeating No. 17 Long Beach State, 3-1, on Wednesday night.

The Ducks (3-0) took the contest 30-16, 24-30, 30-24, 30-22. LBSU (3-1) began the day ranked No. 17 by CVU.com and was No. 27 according to AVCA.com.

For a second straight match, senior Erin Little came up big, leading the Ducks with 20.5 points and 17 kills. Freshman Sonja Newcombe had 10 total blocks, helping the Ducks to a 19.5 to 12.5 edge in team blocks for the match.

Freshman setter Nevena Djordjevic led the Ducks with 38 assists and contributed 13 digs in the upset win.
