PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Trail Blazers open their 2007-08 home schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 7, against New Orleans at the Rose Garden on ESPN.

Portland will tip off its 38th NBA season with a three-game road trip, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 30, at San Antonio.

The San Antonio and New Orleans games will be televised nationally on TNT and ESPN, respectively, as part of a 19-game national TV schedule that features six games on ESPN, six games on TNT and seven games on NBA TV. Portland’s complete broadcast schedule will be available in the coming weeks.

"This is an incredibly exciting time to be a Trail Blazers fan and this season's schedule reflects that," said Trail Blazers chief operating officer Mike Golub. "With 19 games on national television, including a Christmas Day game at home, the league has taken notice of all of the good things happening with the team."

The Trail Blazers will play host to Northwest Division-rival Seattle in the Christmas Day battle, featuring a matchup of the top two picks in the 2007 NBA Draft, Portland’s Greg Oden and Seattle’s Kevin Durant. That game will also be broadcast before a national audience on ESPN.

New to the home schedule this season are 3:00 p.m. start times on Sundays, moved back from last season’s 6:00 p.m. tip-offs to better accommodate fans. There are five Sunday home games, beginning Dec. 9 vs. Milwaukee.

Portland will take on 10 of 14 Western Conference opponents twice at home and twice on the road, while playing Memphis, Phoenix, the L.A. Clippers and San Antonio only three times apiece.

Of those matchups, the Trail Blazers host Memphis and Phoenix twice, and the L.A. Clippers and San Antonio once.

As in past seasons, the club will face all 15 Eastern Conference teams twice, once at home and once on the road.

The team faces 21 back-to-backs this coming season, while embarking on a seven-game road trip – its longest of the year – Jan. 13 at Toronto.

Portland has two season-long, six-game homestands on the schedule.

The first begins in mid December and features Durant and the Sonics, while the second tips off at the end of January and includes a visit from LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Trail Blazers close out the 2007-08 regular season at Phoenix on Wednesday, April 16.

Trail Blazers season tickets with full season plans starting at the affordable price of only $440 per seat are available by calling (503) 797-9600.
