SALEM - Corban College’s fifth-year men’s basketball head coach Justin Sherwood has inked four more players, including three transfers, for the 2006-07 seasons.

Sherwood recently signed Kyle Masten (Salem, Ore.) from Linn-Benton Community College, Michael Craig (Scappoose, Ore.) from Portland Community College, Kevin Van Hook (Silverdale, Wash.) from Colorado State University-Pueblo, and Andrew Brenner (Oakland, Ore.) from Oakland High School.

Masten began his collegiate career at Linn-Benton Community College where he started every game as a freshman and averaged 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. Prior to Linn-Benton, Masten was a three-year varsity player at Sprague High School where he averaged 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists per game during his senior season to earn 2nd team all-Valley League honors for the Olympians.

Craig attended both George Fox University and Portland Community College last year, but did not play at either institution. The 6-foot-6 forward prepped at Scappoose High School where he averaged 24 points and 10 rebounds per game, while shooting 85% from the free throw line and 40% from beyond the three-point arc. As a junior, Craig earned Cowapa league honorable mention honors before being named league Player of the Year following his 2004 senior season. As a senior, Craig also earned 2nd team all-state honors, as well as being named all-league as a high jumper.

Van Hook comes to Corban following three seasons of intercollegiate experience – two at Whatcom Community College and one at NCAA Division II member Colorado State-Pueblo. At CSU-Pueblo, Van Hook appeared in 19 games and averaged 1.5 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game. In his two seasons at Whatcom, Van Hook averaged 7 points and 3 assists per game.

Brenner is the lone high school player of the quartet after graduating from Oakland High School in 2006. A member of the 2006 2A state champions, Brenner averaged 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks per contest, while shooting 60% from the field and 80% from the free throw line. The 6-foot-5 forward was named 1st team all-league, 2nd team all-tournament at state, and 3rd team all-state during his 2006 senior campaign.

Last season, the Warriors posted a 16-14 overall record and advanced to the Cascade Collegiate Conference post-season tournament for the 12th straight season
