CORVALLIS - Oregon State University sophomore offensive guard Jeremy Perry will miss the Brut Sun Bowl with a left knee sprain, Beaver head coach Mike Riley announced Friday.

The 6-2, 313-pound first team All-Pac-10 Conference selection was injured late in the victory over Hawaii Dec. 2nd at Aloha Stadium. Perry started 12 of the 13 regular season games.

“It’s very disappointing news,” Riley said. “Jeremy is a very good player and a key component on our offensive line. We have some capable backups who have already shown that they can do an outstanding job in his place, but we will miss Jeremy.”

Sophomore Adam Speer, who has played in all 13 games, is expected to replace Perry and make his first career start.

Perry is expected to be able to participate in spring practice in April.

No. 24 Oregon State (9-4) faces Missouri (8-4) in the 73rd annual Brut Sun Bowl, Fri., Dec. 29th in El Paso, Texas.

The game can be seen on CBS or heard over the Beaver Sports Radio Network.
