Lady Ducks Catch Spirit of The Season

EUGENE - The University of Oregon women’s basketball team took time out of their busy December schedule recently to spread some holiday cheer.

The Ducks paid a visit to the children’s ward at Sacred Heart Hospital, distributing t-shirts and posing for pictures with some of their young fans, and also attended a fundraiser at a local Pizza parlor to raise money for medical expenses for the family of Madilyn Colley, a six-year-old patient at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital who has acute myeloid leukemia.

In lieu of purchasing gifts for each other, the Ducks decided to pool the money they would have spent and donate it to Madilyn’s cause.

Oregon (8-3, 1-1 Pac-10) returns to practice on Thursday and plays its final non-conference game of the regular season on Saturday against BYU at McArthur Court.
