CORVALLIS - Three-time Junior Olympic national qualifier Jereme Bigelow has agreed to attend Oregon State University and compete for the Beavers’ gymnastics team announced head coach Tanya Chaplin, Tuesday.

Bigelow (San Francisco, Calif./International HS), who trains at Airborne Gymnastics under coaches Mel Ruggiero, Justin Howell and Milo Johnson, will join the Beavers in the fall of 2007.

“We are really excited that Jereme has chosen to pursue her academic and athletic goals at Oregon State,” said head coach Tanya Chaplin.

”Jereme is an outstanding student and a talented gymnast! She has a wonderful personality and a strong desire to succeed at the collegiate level. She is a great addition to our gymnastics family!”

At the 2006 California state meet she took second on bars, beam, floor exercise and in the all-around.

“I am so excited to a part of the Oregon State team,” said Bigelow. “I have great respect for the coaching staff and fell in love with the team immediately. When I took my official visit I knew the second I was there that Oregon State is where I belong.”

Bigelow is a two-time uneven bars champion for the state of California (2004 and 2005) and also earned a first place finish at bars at the 2004 Region I Championships and finished second on the balance beam as well.

In 2005 she finished second in the all-around and on bars at regionals and was second on beam and third in the all-around at the state meet.
