Seattle Pacific Stops Wolves, 72-61

MONMOUTH - Seattle Pacific’s Dustin Bremerman had 21 points and his Falcons led from start to finish during a 72-61 men’s basketball win on Saturday night over Western Oregon at the Physical Education Building.

The win improved Seattle Pacific’s overall record to 15-8, and they are now 8-4 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Western Oregon dropped to 8-14 on the year and to 3-8 in conference play.

Bremerman hit four of nine three-point attempts on his way to the game-high 21.

Teammate Rob Will joined him in double figures with 11 points, and he also had five blocked shots. SPU had 10 blocked shots on the night.

WOU’s Jacob Mitchell had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Alex Swerzbin added 11 points, and Dominique DeWeese had 10 points—which included a steal and a 65-foot buzzer beater shot right before the end of the first half.

But the Wolves shot just 23 percent from the field before the half and warmed up slightly to 32 percent for the game.

They also hit just 3 of 17 shots from three-point range.

The Falcons led by as many as 15 points in the first half, and took a 39-29 lead into the locker room.

Western Oregon would make two separate runs to cut the SPU lead to five points twice in the second half, but the visitors would answer the challenge each time with a run of its own.

The Wolves will remain home next Thursday, hosting Central Washington. Start time is 7:30 PM.
