BOULDER, Colo. - Dominika Dieskova returned to her winning ways and the Ducks followed suit, sweeping the weekend series with the No. 45 Denver Pioneers and the No. 51 Colorado Buffaloes. Dieskova was one of five Ducks to record a singles victory in a 5-2 win Sunday against Colorado. She defeated the Buffaloes' Monica Milewski in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Carmen Seremeta, Anna Powaska, Monica Hoz de Vila and Claudia Hirt each won in straight sets in the three through six positions. Hoz de Vila battled to a 7-6, 7-5 victory over Colorado's Gleisy Torres Torres in the five spot. Colorado swept the Ducks in doubles before Oregon went to work, taking five of the six singles matches for the decisive victory. 28th ranked Dieskova and Ceci Olivos fell, 8-4, at the hands of Colorado's Torres Torres and Camila Belassi. Melisa Esposito (COLO) 6-2, 6-3 Late Friday night, the No. 48 Ducks took a close match from the No. 45 Pioneers by dominating the doubles point and holding on with just enough victories in singles to win the match. Dieskova and Olivos won their doubles match 8-1 and both would pick up victories in their singles matchups as the top of the lineup was the difference in the victory. Dieskova won her match against Annette Aksdal 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 and Olivos also triumphed in three sets, 6-2, 6-7 (8), 6-4. Playing in the No. 3 position, Seremeta defeated Marisa Meacham 6-2, 6-2 for the Ducks' other singles win. Seremeta and Powaska took their doubles match as well, shutting out Julia Baurreger and Kara Iwinski, 8-0. Oregon 4, Denver 3 (Feb. 9th) Singles: 1. Dominika Dieskova (ORE) def.
