Oregon State Dominates Oregon Sports Awards

BEAVERTON - It was unofficially Oregon State University night at the 55th annual Oregon Sports Awards Banquet Sunday at the Tiger Woods Center at the Nike World Campus.

The 2006 national champion baseball team captured the George Pasero Male Team of the Year Award.

Baseball head coach Pat Casey was honored with the Slats Gill Sportsperson of the Year honor and pitcher Jonah Nickerson the Bill Hayward Male Athlete of the Year Award.

Pitcher Brianne McGowan, a senior on the OSU softball team this season, captured the Bill Hayward Female Athlete of the Year Award.

Former and current NFL All-Pro running back Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams was named the Harry Glickman Professional Athlete of the Year
